Foot Efx learned about Steve's plan to walk across the country from an associate who read about him on the web. Everyone here at our corporate office thought the same thing upon hearing Steve's plan - "He needs arch supports and Spira shoes."

We couldn't imagine anyone, especially someone very overweight, walking so far with no support for their arches. And then to do it in regular shoes would just make it that much more grueling.

So, we tracked Steve down and had our Foot Efx store owner Rick Padon in Redlands, CA arrange to bring him back to his store. Steve said he was skeptical at first and wondered what our interest in him was really about. But he said as he sat in Rick's store and watched Rick take care of customers, he saw people literally hobble into the store and walk out in much better condition.

Then it was his turn. Rick examined Steve's feet; took Steve's footprints, analysed them, and selected some Symmetry arch supports for him. Rick put the arch supports in a new pair of Spira shoes and had Steve try the combo out inside the store.

Steve said he immediately noticed the difference. Rick and his wife Barbara were not surprised. Just about everyone needs some support for their arches, but overweight people need it more than others. An overweight person doing an extreme amount of walking is in serious need of arch supports.

Steve left the Redlands Foot Efx store wearing a pair of Symmetry arch supports and Spira running shoes. Here's what he said on his website after his visit:

"I can't tell you what a difference it made. I waddled into their store, walking on the sides of my aching feet. By the time these guys were finished, my feet weren't an issue at all. My legs felt better, I was walking in a straight line, and I was assured not to have a problem with black toe again.
